FAQ

Booking, pricing, walk-ins, and what to expect at Anvil Axe Co.

From booking your event to throwing your first axe, we've covered the questions we hear most from folks across the Four States Area. Don't see what you're looking for? Just reach out.

Do I need a reservation, or can I walk in?

Both! Anvil Axe Co. is open to walk-ins six days a week, year-round. If you're bringing a group or reserving a private space, we recommend booking in advance.

What's the difference between a walk-in and a private event?

Walking in means you can show up any day we're open, no reservation required, and we'll get you set up when you arrive. Reserving a rental space means booking one of our private rental options for an event or larger group that wants the whole space to themselves.

How does pricing work?

All private event pricing is customized to your group size, space, and add-ons. Fill out the inquiry form and we'll send a custom quote — usually within 1–3 business days.

Can I bring outside food or a caterer?

Yes, outside food like birthday cake is welcome. We just ask that you purchase soda and beer through our snack bar rather than bringing your own. Don't forget, we have several catering options, including prime rib served on glass plates with linens, for groups who'd rather we handle it on-site! However, if you'd like food catered in, outside caterers are welcome. Just know there's a separate fee for that.

What's the maximum capacity at Anvil Axe Co.?

The full facility accommodates up to 150 guests. We also offer a smaller private room for more intimate gatherings and a large common-area rental for mid-sized groups.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is close and convenient for our guests.

Do I need experience to throw axes?

Not at all! Our coaches are there to guide every guest, even if you've never thrown an axe before. Most first-timers are even sticking axes after a few throws!

What skill games do you have available?

Our lineup includes axe throwing, knife throwing, cornhole (indoor and outdoor), ping pong, dart boards, pool tables, bocce ball, and disc golf.

Can you host live music or concerts?

Absolutely! We've hosted local bands, regional acts, solo artists, and headliners. Our audio/visual setup and open floor plan make us a great venue for live entertainment.

Do you host axe-throwing leagues?

Yes, our axe- and knife-throwing leagues are open to everyone! They're where you learn and grow as a thrower, no matter your skill level. Talk with us about upcoming league seasons! We also host cornhole tournaments. Interested in something else, like 8- or 9-ball pool tournaments? Just ask, we're open to it!

Do you serve alcohol?

Yes, we have a beer/snack bar available to our patrons.

Can I order custom axes or insulated tumblers for my event?

Yes, both products are available. Give us a call to place an order! Our custom axes are one-of-a-kind pieces, with laser engraving available to make it your own. Prefer something for the whole team? Our powder-coated stainless steel insulated tumblers also come with laser engraving and are available in bulk for events and corporate giveaways.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes. Everyone who throws signs a release of liability first, and anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to sign for them. You can sign at the door, or read and download the waiver ahead of time to save your group a few minutes.

Where are you located?

7837 Gateway Dr., Neosho, MO 64850 — minutes south of I-44 and Rangeline, between Joplin and Neosho.
